![]() Spring is in the air, and it’s a great time to learn about sustainability! There are numerous events happening throughout the valley, so we thought we’d share a few of them with you. This year Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability celebrates its 10th anniversary. Along with those festivities, ASU is also involved with theGreenBiz Conference (February 23-25) and the Sustainability Solutions Festival (February 12-28). Learn about how trees affect everyday life in Phoenix at the Regional Tree and Shade Summit 2.0 on March 9th. The city of Tempe will host an urban forestry workshop on February 27th as well. Scottsdale hosts a Green Building lecture series focused on a variety of topics including air quality, sustainable home improvements, and green schools. Countless volunteer opportunities are ongoing in the Phoenix area. Contribute time while learning about recycling with the Phoenix Public Works Department’s“Zero Waste” initiative at the Laveen barbecue on February 21st. The Escalante Community Gardens in Tempe, who provide educational programs for youth and adults, is in need of volunteers for a variety of positions.
