100% Clean Economy Act of 2019
Earlier this month, SunHarvest Solar was proud to sign onto a letter asking Congress to support the 100% Clean Economy Act of 2019, which would set a national goal to achieve a 100% clean economy by no later than 2050. This bill is essential to mitigating the worst impacts of the climate crisis, creating well-paying jobs, and strengthening the economy. Our company wholeheartedly supports the 100% Clean Economy Act of 2019, and we encourage all citizens and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to lend their support to this bill as well. You can tell your representatives to fight for a brighter, more sustainable future cosponsoring the 100% Clean Economy Act of 2019 here.
“I Love My Solar” Arizona Corporation Commission Postcard Campaign
The Arizona Corporation Commission is currently considering whether to set new renewable energy goals. We need to show that Arizonans care about expanding the use of clean, renewable solar energy! A joint initiative by Solar United Neighbors and Vote Solar called “I Love My Solar” will mail postcards with your photo and message to your elected officials at the Arizona Corporation Commission for free. We encourage you to tell our Commissioners why you think Arizona needs more solar! Choose a photo to share, write your message about why solar is important to you, and include what you want the ACC to do to support solar. Submit your photo and message, and they will send your postcard to the Commissioners.
Defending the Solar ITC
Earlier this month, a bipartisan group of over 200 mayors from across the country sent a letter to Congress urging them to pass the Renewable Energy Extension Act, a five-year extension of the solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC). While we’re disappointed that no Arizona mayors signed the letter, we’re encouraged that so many leaders across the nation are voicing their support for this important policy. Solar is a win for the environment, for homes and businesses, and for local economies. According to SEIA, since the ITC was enacted in 2006, the U.S. solar industry has created more than 200,000 jobs, invested $140 billion into the U.S. economy, and increased solar deployment by more than 10,000%.
