There are so many things we have to be thankful for here at SunHarvest Solar, but the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) tops our list this year! That’s because this important federal policy helps more people go solar, creates jobs, boosts local economies, and so much more. We’re shining a spotlight on the solar ITC this week to spread the word about its many benefits, and encourage you to help ensure this great initiative can stick around. The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is one of the most successful clean energy policies ever enacted, and has helped support a robust solar industry in Arizona and across the United States. The ITC lets solar energy system owners subtract 30% of the cost of installing their system from their federal taxes. This federal tax credit is a great way to get extra savings out of your solar panels, and has helped more homes and business go solar. Solar is a win for the environment, for homes and businesses, for cities, for jobs, and for local economies. According to SEIA, since the ITC was enacted in 2006, the U.S. solar industry has created more than 200,000 jobs, invested $140 billion into the U.S. economy, and increased solar deployment by more than 10,000%. We think that’s a lot to be thankful for! Despite its benefits and massive success, this important policy is currently scheduled to begin stepping down at the end of 2019. Fortunately, our fight to #DefendTheITC took a big step forward as the House Ways and Means Committee released a clean energy tax package with a 5-year solar ITC extension. Investing in clean energy is a critical step toward a brighter future, and the ITC is a major incentive for promoting clean, renewable, solar energy in communities across the nation. If that isn’t something to be thankful for, we don’t know what is! Happy Thanksgiving week from everyone at SunHarvest Solar! RELATED: You can receive 20% off the total cost of your solar energy system and installation when you sign up to go solar with SunHarvest before December 25th, 2019. If you commit to your new solar energy system before the end of the year, you’ll qualify for the full 30% tax credit. We want as many Arizonans as possible to take full advantage of the Solar ITC before it potentially starts ramping down in 2020. Get in touch today to learn more and get started!
